The Capitol

What place is that? Washington DC. I arrived here yesterday afternoon. I’ll be doing the show from The Heritage Foundation tomorrow, then over to Capital Hill to be one of the speakers at Herman Cain’s Revolution on the Hill tax reform rally. There’s so much to say in such a speech ... and I don’t know what is going to come out of my mouth when I step up tomorrow ... .so I’ll fill you in tomorrow.

In the meantime ......

As soon as I’m off the plane and on the way to my downtown hotel I started seeing the symbols of America: The Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, and he Capitol Dome off in the distance. I’ve been coming to Washington DC since I was about six years old. I used to hang out with my Aunt, a USO volunteer at Union Station. I can still remember her place at the Ontario Apartments over by the National Zoo.

As I saw these old landmarks pass by I thought about how Washington DC used to be a symbol of liberty -- of freedom -- the capital of the world’s greatest country. Now --- and I really don’t like saying this at all -- I see it as the focus -- the command center of people who are working daily to destroy freedom, to destroy economic liberty and to create a nation of fully-dependent parasitic government subjects who’s main concerns are the avoidance of personal responsibility and protecting the people in power who make it possible for them to live their lives with as little personal responsibility and effort as possible. These people are Obama voters, and this city is the focal point of Obama’s grand plan to create a fully government-dependent society. Obama thinks that America’s greatness emanates from this city. A few weeks ago he actually said that what made America great was government spending ... not freedom, and not the sacrifices of millions of men and women throughout our history.

This, unfortunately, is Obama’s city right now. I’ll speak out against the soft tyranny of Barack Obama tomorrow ... then leave.
